Thank you so much for your support and patience while we get ready to welcome local people back from Monday 29 June.

We are receiving LOTS of messages and emails and will try to get back to everyone as quickly as we can – there will be more detailed information and FAQs available on our website BEFORE tickets are released.

Safety comes first and it is important everyone follows the rules to protect themselves and others. This means taking responsible decisions on how far to travel.

(WARNING: people visiting from outside the local area may be thrown to the polar bears.)

Please do read all the information available before contacting us.

……………………………………………………

Here’s what we can tell you so far:

SAFETY MEASURES

Highland Wildlife Park has large outdoor spaces and there will be a wide range safety measures in place to protect our staff, our visitors and our animals.

These include:

  • Limiting visitor numbers with advanced online booking required
  • Frequent cleaning in high contact areas and additional hygiene precautions
  • Adding and signposting handwashing and hand sanitiser stations around the park
  • Introducing one-way routes in some areas so different households can stay 2m apart
  • Postponing all keeper talks to avoid crowds
  • Only opening our cafes for takeaway services with card payments

We are doing everything we can to make the park safe for everyone which means your visit will be different to normal.

Toilets will be open with additional cleaning and hygiene measures in place.

TICKETS

To protect our visitors and our staff, EVERYONE will have to book online in advance – including members and others with prepaid tickets.

Visitors will only be admitted if they have advanced online booking confirmation and we will not be allowing anyone to buy tickets on the door on the day.

Tickets for entry from Monday 29 June – Sunday 12 July will be released mid next week and RZSS members and other prepaid ticket holders will have priority booking.

We will share exact days and times for ticket sales in advance. Please follow Highland Wildlife Park on Facebook or Twitter, or sign up for emails:

We will have to limit numbers to protect our visitors and our staff. Exchanging tickets within these first two weeks may not be possible due to demand.

PREPAID TICKETS INCLUDE annual passes, gift admission vouchers, postponed tickets and corporate tickets.

Tickets for Monday 13 July onwards will be released at a later date which will be shared in advance.

TRAVEL

We understand lockdown measures need to be eased gradually and appreciate why we need to open only to people living locally to begin with – the guidance states that locally means broadly within 5 miles.

Safety comes first and it is important everyone follows the rules to protect themselves and others. This means taking responsible decisions on how far to travel.

(WARNING: people visiting from outside the local area may be thrown to the polar bears.)

Please be aware government guidance still recommends avoiding using public transport where possible and especially at peak times.

RZSS MEMBER INFORMATION

RZSS members MUST BOOK ONLINE IN ADVANCE and will have priority booking.

We will share exact days and times for ticket sales in advance. Please follow Highland Wildife Park on Facebook or Twitter, or sign up for emails at rzss.org.uk/memberemail

Visitors will only be admitted if they have confirmation of their advanced booking AS WELL AS confirmation of their prepaid ticket or membership. You can use your confirmation email, confirmation letter or membership card for this.

Members will also be able to book tickets for up to 8 guests as normal.

You can buy memberships online at rzss.org.uk/support/rzss-membership/

FUNDRAISING

While we are very excited to be able to start welcoming visitors back, this is still an incredibly difficult time for our charity because we have had to borrow millions of pounds.

You can help care for our animals and protect threatened species in Scotland and around the world at justgiving.com/campaign/HelpYourPark

There are lots of other ways to help and you can find out more at highlandwildlifepark.org.uk/help
