What times are the venue open from and until?
The venue is open from 8am at the earliest and exited by 1am at the latest.
Is the venue available during the day?
Yes, we have rooms perfect for meetings, conferences and private events available all day.
Do the rooms offer natural daylight?
All our meeting rooms offer natural daylight and amazing views.
Are there any breakout spaces available?
We have four rooms within the Mansion House and one room in the Budongo Trail that can be used for breakout spaces, so you have plenty of room to spread out if you need to.
Does the venue have any outdoor space?
Yes, plenty! There is the public outdoor space around the Zoo, but we can also offer private outdoor space within the Mansion House Gardens – perfect for private parties or canapé and drinks receptions.
Do the rooms have pillars?
None of our rooms have pillars and they all offer every delegate a great view.
Can I arrange a site visit?

Does the venue have air-conditioning?
The Budongo Lecture Theatre has air conditioning.
Does the venue have car parking?
Yes, we offer complimentary car parking when attending an event at Mansion House.
How do I access the venue?
When attending an event at Mansion House, please enter the Zoo through the Members Gate at the top of the car park.
How accessible is the venue?
The Geddes and Gillespie rooms are easily accessible on the ground floor of the Mansion House with disabled facilities. However, there is no lift to the other meeting spaces on the upper floor. The Budongo Trail, Grasslands Restaurant, Jungle Food Court, Penguins Café and the Education Centre are all fully accessible. If mobility assistance is required, please arrange this with our events team.
Are there any hotels near the venue?
Yes, the Holiday Inn is next door to Edinburgh Zoo. Mansion House also works in collaboration with Holiday Inn, the Murrayfield Hotel and House, Edinburgh Marriott and the Leonardo Hotel to offer residential packages.
Our events
Is the venue suitable for meetings/banquets?
Yes! We have some great flexible space here at Edinburgh Zoo that is suitable for any event – but banquets and dinners are something we really love to do.
What packages are available for booking an event at Mansion House?
We have everything from day delegate packages, banqueting packages, residential and family corporate day packages. And, we can create bespoke packages to suit your needs. To view our current packages, click here.
What is included in Mansion House standard DDR package?

When can I get access to my meeting room?
You can access the Mansion House from 8am and the Budongo Trail from 9am. Earlier entry can be arranged but charges may apply.
Is AV included in your prices?
We provide a projector and screen. We also provide a PA system and microphones in the Budongo Lecture Theatre.
Does Mansion house supply free WIFI?
Yes, we provide complimentary WIFI for all delegates – so essential these days!
Does Mansion House offer free room set-up the night before?
We can offer this dependent on availability. Additional charges may apply.
Can we have our event material delivered to Mansion House prior to the event?
Yes, this is not a problem at all. We do have delivery restrictions but this would be discussed on arranging delivery.
Catering
Who provides the catering at Mansion House?
The catering at Mansion House is proudly delivered by Levy Restaurants UK.
Can I bring in my own caterers?
No, unfortunately we do not allow external caterers into the venue.
Can Mansion House cater for special dietary requests?
Yes, or course. We can accommodate most dietary requests as long as we are aware of this in advance of the event.
Can I bring my own wine/drinks for my event?
We offer a corkage price on wine.
