12pm – Meerkats

Discover why our meerkats are far more terrifying than they seem! Did you know – a mob of meerkats is led by a dominant female, who rules with an iron paw? Watch out for… our meerkats digging out delicious juicy bugs from the sand.

12:45pm – Living Links

Discover why our monkeys rub onions all over themselves - who wouldn't want to smell of onion?  

Did you know – one of our capuchins, Kato, was rescued from the pet trade. He has a more enriched life here at Edinburgh Zoo

Watch out for… our monkeys wiggling their ears and shaking branches, along with a wide variety of other expressions and behaviours!

2:15pm – Rhinos

Discover how our chubby unicorns are ecosystem engineers, fundamentally reshaping the environment around them! Did you know – our rhino weighs around two tonnes (that’s still only ¾ the weight of a blue whale’s tongue!)? Watch out for… Qabid enjoying a mud bath.

2:30pm – Penguins

Discover why ocean conservation is critical to the pitter-patter of penguin feet!  

Did you know – gentoo penguins are the fastest penguins in the world, swimming at a zippy 22mph?  

Watch out for… our ‘Very Important Penguin’, Sir Nils Olav, who is a knighted member of the Norwegian Guard! 

3:30pm – Walk Tiny Trek

Discover how these tiny monkeys survive against the many predators of the rainforest!

Did you know – A tiger's stipes help them camoflauge in the wild?  

Watch out for… the illusive Scottish wildcat!

Talks will start at the tiger tunnel.
