You may spot Kevin, our naughtiest penguin, who has a lifetime ban from the penguin parade for pecking at our visitors! Keep an eye out for Snowflake, our leucistic gentoo, easily identifiable by his rare pale white plumage. And don't forget Major General Sir Nils Olav, mascot of the Norwegian King's Guard and the world's highest ranking penguin!
Our penguins are usually visible on the camera throughout the day so don't worry if you can't see any, they are most likely just going for a swim and should be back soon.
Over one hundred penguins live here at Penguins Rock in Edinburgh Zoo - we're home to gentoo, king and Northern rockhopper penguins.
It costs £165 a day to feed our penguin colony. Thank you to everyone who has donated to help our penguins, it’s such a wonderful thing to do and makes a big difference.

University of St Andrews Research Fellow Dr Emma McEwen recently had a paper published exploring how chimps think about each other’s needs during interactions. Keepers in the Budongo team at the zoo supported this research and team leader Callum Gibson co-authored the paper.
