CAT is all about having fun whilst learning about conservation. Members will work in a team and get their hands dirty to help local biodiversity on site at Edinburgh Zoo.
From September to June, CAT is run on the second Saturday of the month for 2 hours. The 10 sessions will include creating wildlife homes, bush craft, trails, games, animal interaction and much, much more!

Who is it for?
Those with an interest in animals and protecting the environment will enjoy being a member of CAT. There are 4 classes in each timeslot:
The theme of each session will be the same for all groups. Activities and content delivered will often differ, however, as the programmes are designed to suit the school years.
When is it?
CAT is held on the second Saturday of the month and parents may choose one of the following timeslots:
Late afternoon: 3-5pm
Parents may book their child(ren) onto CAT at a cost of £110 for the 10 months. This includes a badge and a uniform t-shirt. Children must attend the same timeslot each month; swapping timeslots or attending a different one will not be an option.
Some CAT members will have the opportunity to achieve a John Muir Award, an environmental award scheme focused on wild places, encouraging people to connect with, enjoy and care for our natural environment.
RZSS Edinburgh Zoo is a validated Children’s University Scotland learning destination and CAT is a validated learning activity for which CU members can gain credits in their Passports to Learning.
