Education has always been recognised as one of the core objectives of the Society. Our education programme for schools over the past four decades has reached over 1 million pupils and the development of interpretation at our sites has enabled educational experiences for visitors and others in contact with the Society.
Our Educational Mission
Edinburgh Zoo’s educational mission statement is:
To inspire in our visitors an understanding of the value, the complexity and the fragility of the natural world by fully utilising the educational potential of our unique variety of living animals.
