The Gannet is our brand-new sustainably focused fish and chips bar! It has been named to celebrate the first animal species to be held at Edinburgh Zoo, the gannet.
Stop by to enjoy delicious locally sourced Scottish fish and chip dishes, from Cullen skink to vegan haggis and fish cakes, available to sit-in and takeaway. The Gannet uses high quality, locally sourced ingredients and offers the country's only 'fully Scottish' chip – grown within 50 miles of Edinburgh, chipped in Dunfermline and cooked fresh here at the zoo.
Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, so ensuring we used local suppliers who share our values was incredibly important.
From MSC certified fish to Scottish potatoes, we want to present our visitors with some of the best of what Scotland can offer.
Normal Opening Hours
The Gannet fish bar is open seven days a week, from 11:30am to 4pm.
All catering outlet opening times are subject to weather conditions and visitor numbers.
Special Dietary Requirements
Every outlet has a dedicated allergen folder, which details the allergens of each product sold in that particular outlet. If you have any doubts, please speak to one of our catering assistants.
High chairs and changing facilities are available in all of our outlets. The Gannet also has buggy parks.
