Roll up, roll up! The award-winning Edinburgh Zoo Nights is back and this year we’re off to the carnival. Come and join us for all the fun of the fair at our adult-only extravaganza on Friday 26 May, Friday 2, 9 and 23 June.
Featuring some Zoo Nights classics such as the silent disco and exciting animal talks, this year’s spectacular event will also feature new additions including a double-decker, animal-themed carousel and a Ferris Wheel which will give visitors a unique view of the city. Conservation fortune teller Lynsey Kenrick will also be on hand to gaze into her crystal ball, as well as stilt walkers, interactive pop-up science stations and much more.
Visitors will able to meet some of Edinburgh Zoo’s most famous residents including the penguins, rhinos and meerkats, relax on the main lawn with some tasty street food from the roaring BBQ, or try the exclusive carnival-flavoured ice creams (candy floss and toffee apple) from Mackie’s of Scotland, which have been specially designed for the event.

“We are really excited about the return of Zoo Nights to RZSS Edinburgh Zoo this May and June. It’s the perfect mix of fun and learning about the work we carry out, and it’s probably the most unique night out in all of Edinburgh. Where else can you meet animals and their keepers up close, take a spin on a Ferris Wheel, have your conservation fortune read or expand your mind with one of our interactive pop-up science stations?
“There will be lots of exciting entertainment on offer from Circus Scotland as well as a double decker carousel, animals talks and face painting, so there really is something here for adults of all ages.”
Other highlights on the night include carnival themed games including penguin skittles, hungry hippo beanbag toss and a Zoo-themed strong man striker. Guests will also be able to enjoy a refreshing drink from Edinburgh Gin, Thistly Cross Cider or Brew Dog whilst being bamboozled by master magicians Lewis Barlow and Kevin Quantum.
Edinburgh Zoo Nights takes place on 26 May, 2, 9 and 23 June from 6 until 10pm. Tickets cost £20 plus a booking fee and are available from the Edinburgh Zoo website.
