We have three Northern Luzon giant cloud rats here at the zoo, a male named Toby, a female named Taba and their offspring.
Our cloud rats can be found in the Magic Forest near our sun bears.
Northern Luzon giant cloud rats are a nocturnal rodent that live in the forests of Northern Luzon (an island in the Philippines). This is the only place in the world where the species can be found in the wild.
They are arboreal, meaning they spend most of their lives in trees. The species is under threat due to deforestation and hunting.
