Visitors with Disabilities
We welcome all visitors, and we are working hard to ensure that all our facilities are accessible to everyone.
All visitors who require special assistance are offered a concessionary admission rate, and free admission for their carer.
Visitors with Mobility Difficulties
Edinburgh Zoo is situated on Corstorphine Hill which has some steep areas. We have a recommended access route, which highlights the easiest areas for viewing so we recommend you ask at reception for details.

We also recommend taking a ride to the hilltop in our Hilltop Safari, which operates every day (weather permitting) from 10am until 3:30pm in winter and 4:30pm in summer. The hilltop safari vehicle holds 20 passengers and is accessible to three wheelchair users as well.
We also offer free manual wheelchair loan.
Visitors with Visual Impairment
Assistance dogs are permitted, but visitors are asked to respect our guidelines on areas of the Zoo which should be avoided, as dogs may cause stress to some of our animals. No other animals or pets are permitted.
We recommend that visitors with visual impairment may enjoy our Close Encounters animal-handling sessions.
Visitors with Hearing Difficulties
Edinburgh Zoo operates an induction loop system in various locations. Please ask about this at reception on arrival.
