Terms and Conditions
IMPORTANT NOTE: for both Membership and Adoption, we aim to process packs within 10 working days once the application has been received.
Adoption
- Adoption benefits may be subject to change.
- Our animal collection is always evolving, therefore if your adopted species is withdrawn from our collection then you will be given the opportunity to choose another species to support for the remainder of your adoption year.
- Adoption applies to a species at Edinburgh Zoo or the Highland Wildlife Park and not an individual animal.
- More than one person can be named on the adopter certificate; however adopters will only receive one adoption pack and one invitation to the adopter event.
- Refunds cannot be given if adoption is cancelled mid-term.
- Names of adopters are listed at the animal enclosures for Silver to Platinum packages only. Bronze adopters do not receive this benefit.
- We reserve the right to refuse admission and/or cancel adoption or membership without refund if anyone behaves in a threatening or abusive way to our staff, contractors, visitors or animals.
Membership
- A valid membership card entitles the named holder to free admission to Edinburgh Zoo and the Highland Wildlife Park during their published opening hours.
- Membership cards are strictly non-transferable under any circumstances, and may be used only by the named holder to whom it was issued.
- The card is not valid without a photograph in place. It is not valid after the expiry date and cannot be used for educational school visits.
- An adult must accompany children aged 15 years or younger.
- Please look after your membership card as there is a £5 fee on all replacement cards. If you plan to visit and are unable to produce your card, please contact the membership team on 0131 314 0374 during office hours Monday - Friday to make alternative arrangements in advance of your visit.
- Free admission will not be granted without the production of a valid membership card. If you do not have your card with you when you visit or have not advised the membership team in advance, then entry will be charged at the usual admission rate and is strictly non-refundable.
- Members are entitled to discounted car parking rates for the vehicle they are travelling in, when they show a valid membership card. Please note that spaces are not guaranteed and are issued on a first-come first-served basis.
- The membership year cannot be extended or transferred and refunds cannot be given if membership is cancelled mid-term.
