Please give the camera a moment to load. The best times to view the Yang Guang in his outdoor enclosure is between 11am and 3pm GMT. He can be quite hard to spot whilst he is sleeping so look carefully :)

Yang Guang 阳光-

Yang Guang means 'sunshine' and he was born on 14 August 2003 in Wolong. He was then moved to Panyu Zoo in the Guangdong Province, before moving to a facility in Inner Mongolia. In March 2011 he moved to the same location in Bifengxia as Tian Tian.

Thoughts on Yang Guang by Alison McLean:
“He participates in his training every time and will allow keepers very close with no aggression. He absolutely loves his food especially large and thick bamboo canes and if eating them outside he will ignore all else. He loves to be outdoors even in the heavy rain, though once eaten he likes to climb into his basket for a snooze. He appears to explore more than Tian Tian and is very patient. In essence he is a gentle giant.”
