Pokémon fever has taken the world by storm and has made its way to RZSS Edinburgh Zoo. The Zoo is home to over 1,000 rare and endangered animals, but with the addition of rare Pokémon scuttling around the site, the number of rare species has significantly increased.

The Zoo’s famous, endangered giant panda pair, Tian Tian and Yang Guang, also had the opportunity to get in on the Pokémon action with some specially made panda Poke-cakes.

The panda keepers at the Zoo made special panda cakes resembling the rarer Pikachu and Charmander Pokémon, which the pandas thoroughly enjoyed ‘catching’.

RZSS Edinburgh Zoo has also released a special Pokémon map to help visitors in their Pokémon Go quests. The map highlights the various PokéStops and gyms scattered about the Zoo, which visitors can find whilst exploring the Zoo’s collection of rare and endangered animals.
