A walk on the wild side

Edinburgh Zoo is inviting brave members of the public to walk across fire, all in the name of conservation! The Firewalk is scheduled to take place on the evening of 3 October and will see sponsored individuals walking across 20 feet of embers burning at 1200 degrees Fahrenheit.

Edinburgh Zoo is delighted to announce the arrival of a Grevy’s zebra foal. The female foal, Florence is particularly important as the Grevy’s zebra is listed as endangered, with only 1,500 to 2,000 remaining in the wild.

Another Promotion for Nils? We’re Not Having Olav!

Nils Olav, Edinburgh Zoo’s famous king penguin, will be visited by the Norwegian King’s Guard on Friday 15 August. There have been rumours of yet another promotion but it is not known what honour will be bestowed on this very special penguin.
