Pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang (a female and male also known as Sweetie and Sunshine) were among the biggest 'celebrity' arrivals in the UK last year.
Providing an insight into their lives in China and the build-up to the transfer to Edinburgh Zoo - complete with a posse of press photographers - is this new hour-long documentary.
As the narrator David Tennant says at the outset of the film, Sweetie and Sunshine were about to become "the most famous zoological couple in the world".
The programme goes to China with Edinburgh Zoo vet Simon Girling to see how the pandas fare in their homeland and with zoo keeper Alison Maclean on a trip to the sister Wolong reserve, to see efforts to introduce more pandas back into the wild. On the home-front, the preparations include sorting a supply of bamboo and marketing items.
