Weddings
First of all, congratulations on your engagement! You must be very excited and we thank you for considering us as the venue for such a special day. Edinburgh Zoo is probably the wildest place in Edinburgh to get married but our elegance, impeccable service and delicious catering ensures that you, your partner and your guests will have a truly memorable experience.
We pride ourselves on being one of the most cost-effective, but impressive, places to get married in, and around, Edinburgh. We only change £25 per head exc VAT to hire the whole of Mansion House. Our minimum hire is 50 guests, however, if you would prefer a more intimate celebration, and have less than 50 guests, you are welcome to hire the whole house for £1250 exc VAT. This gives you exclusive access to The Mansion House and its gardens throughout the day and evening. If it’s a nice day you could even treat your guests to a BBQ in the gardens rather than an evening buffet.
The MacMillan Room

Our MacMillan Room, which is the ideal place to hold your ceremony, gives you the choice of saying your vows facing breathtaking views across the Pentland Hills or towards our antique fireplace. It is wonderfully light and airy, decorated in shades of Wedgwood blue and grey, with intricate decorative plasterwork and has a very romantic ambience. During the day the room is flooded with natural daylight making sure you get the perfect pictures of your perfect day. |
The Geddes and Gillespie Rooms

Our Geddes and Gillespie Rooms are usually recommended as the evening rooms because they can be set up as two separate rooms or joined together to make one large L shaped function suite. The two rooms combine to become one magnificent oak panelled room with views across the park and direct access to our gardens. They are ideal because you can have the dining area on one side and a party area on the other; with room for a DJ or band and dance floor. |

Or, for something really different, why not get married somewhere in the Zoo itself, alongside your favourite animal? You could take your vows within our beautifully kept Gardens, or on top of the African Plains with views to Arthur’s seat; assuming it’s a good day of course, if not we have Mansion House as a backup. |
Due to the style of the house and its gardens, with lots of hidden spots and grand décor, it has numerous focal points to give your photographer inspiration. We can also provide a list of potential florists, pipers, DJ’s etc to help the planning go as smoothly as possible.
