The Highest Standard of Care
The living collection at Edinburgh Zoo benefits from a very high standard of care. From the design of exhibits to nutrition and veterinary support we are able to maintain a diverse collection of healthy animals that through the specialist care of our trained keeping staff contribute to the long term survival of species through regular breeding.
Each of our animal keepers has spent two years studying for the Advanced National Certificate in Animal Care whilst working at the Zoo, and although many keepers come to us as university graduates, others chose to continue studying for foundation and full degrees in Zoo Resource Management.
