Rene has very dark colouration and is quite hairy in comparison with some of the others. He has a fairly typical looking chimp face.
History & character
Arrived in Edinburgh Zoo in 2010 from Beekse-Bergen Safari Park in the Netherlands. He is an easy-going adult male and gets on well with other members of the group. He is particularly playful with other males and is protective of members of his original group and is quick to support Paul in any disputes.
