Edinburgh Zoo's Animal Antics show is a daily adventure! Follow our presenters as our animals showcase their prodigious natural abilities. Experience the thrill of birds flying low over your head and see our animals doing gravity-defying balancing acts. The shows also offer the opportunity for you, the audience, to participate!
The animals vary between shows, as we work solely with animals who are willing to be involved. Our aim is for the animals to display natural behaviours as instinctively as they would in the wild. Previous Animal Antics shows have included rainbow lorikeets, tawny owls, kune kune pigs, turkey vultures and rats. |
Positive Reinforcement

We train our animals in presentations by using positive reinforcement, which means that the animals never do anything they don't want to do. If they choose to participate, then we reward them with their favourite food. |
Time and Place

Animal Antics at the hilltop has finished for the winter, however we are please announce our winter antics programme has started. The winter shows will take place in the Australian arena near the koalas at 11.20am daily. The show will include, rainbow lorikeets, tawny owl, rats, cockatoo, tenrec and insects. However the animals used each day will vary and is weather dependant. |
