Looking for an easy and enjoyable way to discover the Zoo? Then enjoy a ride on our free Hilltop Safari!
- Each trip starts near the duck pond, and makes its way up through the Zoo to the very top of the hill, where you can choose either to walk back down the hill or to continue on the round trip. The driver / guide gives a running commentary all the way, sharing our animals' stories and giving you information on our visitor facilities. Each trip takes about 30 minutes in total.
- The Hilltop Safari runs every day of the year, except Christmas Day, from 10 am and finishes at 3.15 pm in the winter and 4.30 pm in the summer, depending on the weather conditions.
- We have two safari vehicles, and they both operate on our very busy days in the spring and summer, and at weekends throughout the year. In the winter, only one safari vehicle operates. The zebra trailer has room for 20 passengers and three visitors in wheelchairs.
- Our Hilltop Safari service is free, but we are delighted to accept donations for our conservation fund.
