Grey-legged douroucouli are the only true nocturnal monkey and inhabit the forests of South America, Their diet consists mainly of fruits, insects nectar and leaves. It is a small monkey with it's body measuing between 27 - 37 inches in length, although it's tail more than makes up for this, in some cases it can be equal to the body length.
They have silvery or dark grey fur over their back, head and legs with three black stripes along it's head. and either a grey or brown underside. They live in family groups comprising of 2 - 5 individuals.
