How Many Giant Pandas Will Be Coming?
We will initially be caring for two giant pandas.
They will probably be around three years of age and will reach breeding age a year or two after their arrival.
What happens if they have cubs?
The giant pandas at Edinburgh Zoo are on loan to us for 10 years. We hope that they will breed in that time. Any cubs produced as a result of the pairing will remain here for two to three years.
After this time they will return to Wolong to participate in reintroduction programmes back into the wild in China.
