How Long is the Scottish Beaver Trial and what is the Programme?
A three-year trial will be proposed in the licence application, preceded by one-year of preparation and followed by a period of evaluation.
It is planned to gather the animals in Norway in autumn 2008, followed by 6 months in quarantine and a release on site in the spring of 2009. A programme of monitoring and research will be developed, which will include careful coordination of work on the ground to ensure disturbance of the animals is kept to a minimum.
